Dreadnought - Bridging Realms (2015)

Like if Camel and The Cure had a black metal baby with a bizarre post-rock fixation. A mindblowingly good record by any genre standards and will definitely make my end of the year list.

George Michael - Older (1996)

Been on a GM kick lately (mostly his first three solo outings), and this one is definitely a cut above most of the R&B stuff that was coming out in the late 90's. The upbeat material is catchy as hell and the more thoughtful material has a great jazzy sensibility with even some bossa nova thrown in here and there. Underrated.

You heard LWP Ant? I was really surprised by how mature that album is, especially "Mother's pride".

I have it actually. Been pretty impressed by it: very versatile album. I'm a sucker for lazy acoustic pop stuff like 'Heal The Pain'.

Most of the tracks on that are great. I'm not mad about "Soul free" or "They won't go when I go" but otherwise pretty perfect.

Also, you know that whatever image you have in your sig is not showing up, yes?

Fantastic album. I did it for "Love or Hate?" and was totally blown away by it. Moss swears by it too (he recommended it).

Glad to hear that, man. I had been exposed to Jason from his previous band Drive By Truckers, and had heard his solo work (Well, with his band The 400 Unit) previous to Southeastern, but upon first listen Southeastern just floored me in a way that no album ever has before or since. His new one, Something More Than Free from July of this year is also great. Seeing him next month, can't wait. His live shows are suppose to live up to the great albums.

Been there, done that. At the Drive-In is actually my favorite band and I've listened to pretty much their entire discography. Great, great band. Post-Hardcore is a wonderful genre too.

Nicole Dollanganger - Natural Born Losers

This is without question the most arresting album I've heard all year, she has such a delicate voice but the lyrics are so disturbing, unsettling, and fascinating. It's like dark Americana. Also the music is so beautiful and washed out against the hush of the vocals. (The cover art though...)
