Default Need some help...

I've always been a big rap and r&b fan but i really been starting to like other types of music. I really like the Mars Volta, Brand New, Thursday, Sparta, and Alexisonfire. Since I am really new to any music genre outside of rap, can anyone reccomend some other bands/singers that you think I might like?

I am familiar with the people us listed except Chocolate Milk. I am familiar with soul and funk, that area has influenced some of the R&B artist of today. I am looking to try stuff outside of my usual. But thanks for the suggestions anyway.
