I have only been listening to old hip-hop. What is popular right now????

It's contemp r&b and pop rap in the main, with a bit of pop punk/pop rock here and there. Just as it's been since the early nineties.

Hip-Hop, i hate that is the most popular, i dont even listen to any of it really yet i can probably sing half of the songs, its everywhere.

well it sure isnt punk or rock, and country is never in control, so id say pop as it alwasy is, and hip-hop

Right now, it's pretty much across the board, it would seem.

Though I understand rock bitchslapped hip-hop this year in terms of album sales.

And rock radio definitely made something of a comeback, after several major stations died off in the last few years.

I'm generally pretty open towards different tastes, but I really don't understand contemporary R&B. Old R&B was good, but the newer version is possibly the most generic music ever written.
