It's a good thing you showed up here...you seriously need to find some new music if those are some of the most important albums to you.

In no particular order:
Smash Mouth - Astro Lounge One of the first albums I ever bought. I remember singing along to All Star back in 4th grade... pretty much the reason I'm into music today. Green Day - International Superhits Another early album purchase, also one of the first with CUSS WORDS! I remember feeling so dirty while listening to Long View. Brand New - Deja Entendu A mutual respect for this band/album was actually an important part of a relationship I was in towards the end of High School. They're also my most played artist on iTunes. The Faint - Danse Macabre One of my favorite artists around the time I got my first iPod. ('04 I think?) Though it's not great, Agenda Suicide is one of my favorite tracks of all time for the nostalgia factor. Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory Another one that takes me back to the good old days in school. All the friends that I shared this album with back then all still love it to death. The Strokes - Is This It? I remember reading that the album was exceptionally praised by critics everywhere, which marked the period where I started reading music publications and critic reviews. Led Zeppelin - Mothership Nostalgia. My father loved to play Classic Rock (everywhere; in the house, car, etc) as I grew up, and as a result, I'm able to recognize essentially every major hit from the 60s and 70s. It wasn't until recently that I made it a project to identify and acquire all these infamous tracks that shaped my childhood. The Rolling Stones - Forty Licks See above Blink-182 - Dude Ranch I think this album is the reason I begged my parents for an Electric Guitar, which I lugged over to my neighbor's house several times a week so we could "jam" together. (If you could call it that; it was more like loud, incoherent, and obnoxious garble. But it made us happy) Pinback - Summer In Abaddon I think this album is the reason I expanded my taste into the softer and more experimental (in other words, not-rock) side of music. Great effin album, too. edit: f*ck, totally forgot about Guster - Ganging Up on the Sun Excellent album, love the band, absolutely need to see them live at some point in my life Last edited by RVCA; 04-18-2010 at 10:47 PM. |
