Every song by Meatloaf!

Crowded House / Neil Finn really knows how to write a great love song...
Whether it be proclaiming love and devotion in songs like Fall at Your feet, Something So Strong, Nails in My Feet and Distant Sun... or if he is singing about the anguish involved with love in songs like Better Be Home Soon, Don't Dream its Over, Private Universe, Fingers of Love and my personal favorite, Into Temptation... Each is a little tour into the dark and light side of love and human relations, and the sense of yearing, and sometimes even desperation is all pervading. Excellent songwriter indeed. |
Alica keys.

It must be love - Madness

Can't Take My Eyes Off of You -- Lauryn Hill
|
Richard Marx wrote some of the best love songs of the late 80's.
|
He also sported a very fine Mullet...
Although it was not as great as the one Billy Ray Cyrus carried on top of his noggin... |

I Knew I Loved You by Savage Garden.

Hahahaha there are some awful songs on this page. But comically awful... and not that I have any authority to but I will forgive them. How's aboot "Julia" by The Beatles. That's one of the most beautiful love songs ever I think. Also "I Called You Back" by Bonnie Prince Billy.
|
"Everybody here wants you" by Jeff Buckley

Favorite love song; as follows,
Wembly, Candyskins. off the album- Fun?;)
Her's a song from me to you, I hope you understand it. I can't forget the day we met, I loved you oh so madly. All the things i used to do, I gave them up so Gladly. Do you remember getting drunk, on Uncle Derriks brandy? We were sick, yea we were young' I wanted you so badly. it's 1966 again and a love as big as Wembley...Tell me. |
Probably Unravel by Bjork, not that it's a happy love song, but it gets the job done.
As for more recent ones: You Picked me - A fine frenzy, it's such a cliche happy love song, oh well haha In the Lake - This will probably eventually take over Unravel, I just love it so much, but I have to see how it ages. |
Truly, Madly, Deeply - Savage Garden
Yeah, I cried, but I was like 16 at the time. |

Wednesay Morning 3am - Simon & Garfunkle...Beautiful

Sex Type Thing by Stone Temple Pilots.
Just kidding. Seriously I would have to say right now it's probably The Blower's Daughter by Damien Rice. |
This I Promise You by *Nsync :)
|
Winter Birds-Ray Lamontagne
I just spent 6 months living in the tiny Maine town where he's from. The song is so eerily beautiful and really echos the vibe of the town in winter. |
My favorite is Remembering Sunday from All Time Low.
|
mr. big - to be with you
|
Book Of The Month - Lovage
|
I am a big sucker for One by U2, Be Mine by REM and The Scientist by Coldplay... three fairly great love songs, if only in my own humble opinion!
|
Ahh, the love song about not really being in love but actually being in love... love is so confusing and weird!
|
So different to the rest of the stuff that The Vengaboys made, and so much better too. They genuinely had talent!
This is how they said Goodbye. |
So at the risk of being pooped on for liking his music... Moby actually has made a few good, tender love songs... "At Least We Were Together" from his 18 album was one song my wife and I used to cherish when we lived halfway across the world from each other before we married and I moved from Australia to the US.
|
If this is just singing about love then a couple I'd pick would be:
Van Morrison - Brown Eyed Girl and Aerosmith - Dueces are Wild If its to 'get busy to' I'd probably pick Massive Attack - Angel |
Brown - eyed girl... what a great song! I connec t with that song so much, having a wife with gorgeous brown eyes and a daughter who has inherited them, too...

This Should Be Up There With The Best Of Them. The Lyrics Are Wonderful, So Thoughtful.
