All of those above choices sound great! With the exception of the Jack Johnson song though... Jack Johnson makes music boring in ways I never thought music could be made boring...

"I Got The News" by Steely Dan.

Just check out these lyrics!

Quote:
You're a screamer
You know how to hustle
Quote:
Slow down I'll tell you when
I may never walk again
Quote:
Spanish kissin'
See it glisten
You came ragin'

Peaches and Cream by The John Butler Trio

I think the song is very sweet, especially when he gets to this part:

there you are right in front of me
a brand new day
sunrise over sea
no longer my cup half empty
cause there you are
you and your mum in front of me
you're peaches & cream to me

I was at the JBT show in Amsterdam a couple of years ago. John was high as a New York skyscraper, but it wass stil amazing!

My favorite lovesong has got to be Tom Waits' Alice.

I disappear in your name
But you must wait for me
Somewhere across the sea
There's a wreck of a ship
Your hair is like meadow grass on the tide
And the raindrops on my window
And the ice in my drink
Baby all I can think of is Alice

So, wait, is the search thing broken or has "This Must Be The Place" somehow not been mentioned?

Tracy Chapman—"For My Lover". I've loved this one since I was kid, though I don't think I fully understood what it was about until I listened to it again when I was a lot older.
