Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds - Christmas song

scottsy 01-21-2010 11:11 AM

The Book of Love by The Magnetic Feilds... also covered by Peter Gabriel... I actually kinda like the Gabriel version better...

Angie by Rolling Stones and Changes By Black Sabbath

Getting all soppy for a moment, I gotta say Fall At Your Feet by Crowded House and In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel are two big favorites of my wife and I...

Monk 02-11-2010 04:02 AM

Yeah, but Elvis Costello wrote "The Book of Love".

TheImpossiblePrince 02-12-2010 12:47 PM

Lamb - Gorecki

Loose_control 02-25-2010 02:08 AM

Sade no ordinary love

scottsy 02-28-2010 10:08 AM

Do love songs always have to be the mushy happy type on this board or can we post the ****ed up breakup / relationship failure love songs that abound in our world on here too...

In which case I nominate the entire Get Lonely album by the Mountain Goats...

khfreek 02-28-2010 10:29 AM

Yes, this is a great love song. STFU.

EDIT: Weird video, I know, just ignore it

if we are allowing these songs then i would have to go with Marilyn Manson's entire album Eat ME Drink Me

bubu 03-01-2010 07:10 AM

Santana - Love of my life

Berkeleyboy 03-01-2010 07:46 AM

Summer Madness - Kool and the Gang

frostedone 03-08-2010 01:13 AM

I always liked Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen.

Sincerely Yours 03-08-2010 10:15 AM

"Gold Digger" by Kanye West is the most amazing love song ever.

JUST kidding. I don't really have a favorite of all time, but right now "Birds (Acoustic)" by Kate Nash. It's really quirky and cute. So, yeah.

scottsy 03-09-2010 06:28 PM

One Crowded Hour by Augie March seems to fit the bill for my ears.... awessome song, too!

Necromancer 03-09-2010 08:37 PM

You'd have to prove it was a love song first...

scottsy 03-13-2010 04:49 PM

Do we know if it's a love song or not? I'm really not sure myself to be honest...

littleAngel89 03-14-2010 08:32 PM

It's "More than words" performed by Westlife

scottsy 03-14-2010 08:38 PM

Westlife....hmmmm.... not sure I want to be remembering them or anything they've done...

Degree7 03-14-2010 08:53 PM

Hmmm

Don't know if this counts as a 'love song', but the most evocative that comes to my mind is Procol Harum's 'Whiter Shade of Pale'.:hphones:

scottsy 03-14-2010 08:55 PM

Darn good song regardless, though, a definite "hear it and enjoy every single time" sorta track

Degree7 03-14-2010 09:06 PM

It's the organ work that does it. Such an underrated (under-used) instrument in the world of rock/pop.

scottsy 03-14-2010 09:09 PM

Oh yeah, that song must have one of the most beautiful organ parts ever written, it totally add a huge extra dimension to the song.

songzila 03-15-2010 01:13 AM

hahahahah mom sa no grile it all all

jenneym 03-15-2010 04:18 AM

I love Kesha's Tik Tok now-days.

Angel of Night 03-16-2010 06:22 AM

I like My heart will go on

scottsy 03-16-2010 06:38 PM

That song has a tendency to provoke nausea in me, but each to their own, as they say...

scottsy 03-18-2010 08:29 PM

Wonderwall is indeed a great song, regardless of it's love song credentials or lack thereof... one of Oasis' best tracks, and very much a songwriting highlight before their long descent into crappiness...

Skate62 03-20-2010 12:18 AM

Funny Thread!!!
As a certain mood can sometimes even make you put up w/ Everlasting Love by Journey or a Three Doors Down song, or ....

even if you got a guy singing Barry White in your ear off key... it becomes the best song
luv song ever!!!!
Personally I'd prefer something by Shane McGowen!!!

katanne 03-20-2010 02:45 AM

my fave love song is, your body is a wonderland by john mayer.. its a very lovely song..=)

scottsy 03-21-2010 08:00 AM

Well if heartbroken love sobgs are acceptable, "Lost" by the Church would be a prime candidate...
