Thrice, have created plenty of great pop-rock/metal albums not to mention can actually write lyrics and are good musicians.

What can Shinedown do? Oh yeah, be a shitty "hard rock" band.

I stated before that I've only heard one of their songs. However, I've heard most of Shinedown's material so far, and I'd listen to them over Thrice if given the choice.

And Thrice is also pretty good.

Although Shinedown's latest album doesn't compare to their first.

Only problem is, I'm on dial-up. I have 550mb left of 4gb. I transfer at 2kbps average, and thats just my new modem. (a month ago I'd be lucky to have 1.4kbps). So I'm kinda stuck on that one.
