Yeah, I still kind of like Blink 182 and early Green Day because they're what got me into music in the first place. While some of their songs I can't stand now (Time of Your Life, gets on my ****ing nerves), I still like some.

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right...

I really like older, more lo-fi pop-punk from the seventies, but the 80's/90's/00's pop-punk ought to be just called 'pop' because it's much more pop than punk.

I agree with jackhammer in that bands like NOFX and Blink are the complete opposite of punk, which is fine, it just shouldn't be labeled the same as the more punk stuff.

Yeah, we've discussed this issue in length in here, so knock yourself out. It's a pretty interesting discussion.

I can handle a few Offspring tracks but not much else from the genre.

Thing is, Green Day really gives pop punk a bad name, just like Rise Against gives trad punk a bad name.

Hah, I'd say it was an above-average album for it's time. 7/10, maybe 8/10. Certainly doesn't deserve the crap that gets piled on it, just for being part of Green Day's discography.

I suppose i am a bit late to join this, but i never understood what made any Greenday albums popular.

Anyway, one album i don't understand is Elvenking's "The Scythe". It's not bad, i just don't think it should be their most popular album, when compared to some of their other works (Heathenreel and The Winter Wake blow it away if you ask me).
