For me, it was in a very good way. Somewhat relaxed in parts, but also very sincere and passionate.

Electioneering and Climbing Up The Wall are my two favorite tracks off of Ok Computer.

I have to say your post makes me laugh because it kind of implys that you would rather sit and listen to a computers voice for two odd minutes rather than two legitimately good songs.

boo boo 05-19-2008 07:43 PM

I love Climbing off the Walls, one of my favorites off OK Computer.

Electioneering is blah, certainly my least favorite song off the album.

simplephysics 05-19-2008 07:46 PM

Where is all this hate for Electioneering coming from?
I really can't find anything wrong with it at all. :(

sleepy jack 05-19-2008 07:47 PM

Fitter Happier really pulls the album together for me, I don't think any song illustrates desolation and coldness that way that one does. Don't be hating on MS Sam people.

I find Thoms vocals to be rather grating on that track, plus it just sounds out of place with the rest of the album.

I guess you're right when you consider the album as a whole, but I think Thom's vocals fit in perfectly with the style of the song.

Sparks - Parachutes - Coldplay

sleepy jack 05-19-2008 10:24 PM

I find the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise) totally unnecessary.

ProggyMan 05-19-2008 10:34 PM

Not a great album, but Detects On My Affection on Writers Block.

Downtown Train on Rain Dogs.

The title track of The Queen Is Dead, always thought it doesn't sit well with the rest of the album.

Ambuletz on De-Loused, is just pure masturbation.

bsmix 05-20-2008 01:40 AM

Little Miss Strange on Hendrix's Electric Ladyland sticks out so bad.

I'm sorry. I think its an awful song. Blacks vocals are so goddamn irritating.

Absolutely correct. Bad Springsteen imitation.

Yeah. Noel Redding was a horrible singer and songwriter.

For me it's Get into Yours from Mudhoney's self titled album.

That song's not too bad. The worst song is Flat Out ****ed.

Hmmm lets see... Quest For Fire from Iron Maiden's Still Life album is bad enough.

Piss Me Off 05-20-2008 08:48 AM

Generation Terrorists by the Manic Street Preachers is a brilliant album but its fair to say there are rubbish moments. Damn Dog is just embarassing, the Repeats don't need to be there and Another Invented Disease is just cheesy.

I think Repeat (Stars And Stripes) is about the only track on the album that hasn't dated as much as the rest.
You want cheesy crap Motorcycle Emptiness is full of it.

infusician 05-20-2008 11:56 AM

If all the songs on the album aren't great, then why would you even consider the album to be great?

Urban Hat€monger ? 05-20-2008 11:58 AM

How many albums can you name without one single below par (Rather than flat out bad) song on it?

BTW: Can you remove your sig please. Advertising other websites are banned under our rules.

infusician 05-20-2008 12:01 PM

I can name Miles Davis "Kind of Blue" as one album that doesn't disappoint.

Rocket Queen and Night Train on GNR's Appetite

A lot of singles from cd's are often times the worst on the record, but they are the easiest to digest for the mass audience.

Are you freaking kidding me? Rocket Queen is awesome and one of the best on the album.

You're crazy is the worst, hands down. And even its not all that bad.

Some Girls are Bigger than Others from The Queen is Dead, which I just think is an awful awful song

sweet_nothing 05-21-2008 10:11 PM

Frankly Mrs.Shankly I disagree

ProggyMan 05-21-2008 10:12 PM

I hope you're not suggesting Frankly Mr. Shankly is a bad song. That used to be my favorite Smiths song.

sweet_nothing 05-21-2008 10:13 PM

No i was making a joke.......i guess no one got it :(

:( noo. Lyrically it's kind of repetitive but Johnny Marr is on fire for that one especially how it fades in and out in the beginning.

I got it, I've heard the song. I was just ensuring you weren't saying the song itself was bad.

The fading and stuff at the beginning annoys me sooooo much, and the songs as a whole sounds like the most typical of a Smiths songs, but not in a good way, and I just don't see why it was put on that album at all.

Seltzer 05-21-2008 10:19 PM

Some Girls are Bigger than Others is just a fun song in my mind. The only song I really don't care for on that album is Vicar in a Tutu. The rest are gold!

Zer0 05-22-2008 02:14 AM

There is no weak song on The Queen Is Dead. No song on it deserves to be mentioned in this thread.
