Well overrated at least implies that the respect they get isn't deserved...

Generally when someone says a band is overated it means they get more affection then they deserve. And it's not often you hear actual fans making such a statement. But I call Nirvana slightly overated though and I like them still.

It's hard to interpret things online though so as good as your intentions are, there'll always be someone who takes it the wrong way.

I could call them the most important and most inspiring band working today and I'd be incredibly confident I wasn't overrating them.

I think they are, i've seen statements such as "Radiohead is the best band in the world, fact" or "Radiohead is the most talented band on the planet" etc.. Thats overating the band and I do think alot of the respect radiohead get isn't deserved, but that means I can't like them now?...

^ I agree.

Just because they are considered over-rated doesn't mean they are unlikeable.

I'm not sure if I'd call radiohead overrated, because they are a hugely influential band, they do make amazing music, and they've been consistently putting out quality albums for years and years. Their longevity is what separates them from other bands who are just as good musically and lyrically in my opinion.

The most awesome band I have ever seen live , well worth the 10 year wait it took me to actually go & see them.

Even if the Stones are half as good when I finally see them i`ll be in for a treat.

I`d agree with that , and i`d also add not afraid to experiment or try new things to that list too

^ahh good point. I think you'd be hardpressed to find a band that experimented with their sound as much as radiohead did, while still maintaining a huge following. They're an extremely versatile band on top of every other quality that's already been mentioned, i think they deserve every bit of credit and renown that they get, not underrated, but definitely not overrated either.
