I never thought Optimistic was out of place too much on Kid A... its probably the most "rock" track on the album, but it adds diversity to the whole mix, and thematically its not far removed from what I can tell... Kid A in my opinion is one of the most consistent albums I've heard...

I don't trust Rollingstone... not when you see them hype utter garbage as great music... they're all about selling copies of cheap rag to the kids who wanna read about the "cool guys"..very similar to stupid teen rags these days...

Rolling Stone is kind of crappy because they are prejudiced towards the "rock" canon of classics and give high ratings to bad albums by respected older rock bands (see: their review of new albums by U2 and Green Day). That said, I do find their reviews to be very concise, readable, and actually descriptive of the music (unlike, say, Pitchfork). They aren't great but I don't think they're as bad as some people say.

Plz Ive listenend to Radiohead more times than you've jerked off to pictures of Thom Yorke, anyway back to why Radiohead are awful. Ive listened to this band over 5000 times and Ive come to the conclusion that they are not only terrible but with a song like Life In A Glasshouse they have effectively killed jazz but atleast I didn't have to put up with any awful guitar work on it. Didn't they realize that after the vomit that is The National Anthem that they should never mess with jazz? They need to return to playing insipid ballads like Creep or High & Dry or even the Jeff Buckley rip off Fake Plastic Trees instead of trying to be something they are not interesting and talented, you're a shit post grunge band form the 90's deal with it Radiohead.
