at the risk of sounding like a broken record, Amnesiac's their best for me

I can agree that In Rainbows sounded like a different enough approach when comparing it to Hail to the Thief, but the King of Limbs definitely follows a similar approach to In Rainbows. I just feel like they know what people have come to expect out of their sound. They do it nicely...I can enjoy both In Rainbows and The King of Limbs...but I definitely don't feel as motivated as I once did to keep up with their new albums. Their first 6 albums were so good and so different from each other that I never knew what to expect when they released a new one. I kind of do know what to expect now, sadly.

TKoL is their biggest album to album change since Kid A. The sound of it is similar, but the songwriting is vastly different.

Similarity between "In Rainbows" and "The King of Limbs"? Really? "In Rainbows" is so straightforward and poppoy. "TKoL" is so weird. "TKoL" sounds to me like a cross between the raw guitar sound and experimentation of "Hail to the Thief" and the electronic influence of "Kid A".

Yeah...I don't think anyone is getting what I'm saying. There is now a very consistent "Radioheadness" to their albums. The next album could be the happiest piece of music they've ever written, but I bet you I won't be surprised with how they make it sound happy.

Vice versa.

The Daily Mail is better than any song on their last two albums.

EDIT: And the interview with Colbert is the most awkwardly funny thing I've seen.

I'm not a big fan of The Daily Mail. I much preffer The Present Tense or The Butcher.

Up to Amnesiac, they were still finding their voice; it's found now. I will agree that HTTT has an attitude all its own, but i think since Amnesiac you can see the Radiohead signature. This isn't a bad thing; if they were blatantly ripping off the different influences and sounds they emulate, it would be a lot less interesting. Radiohead's signature sound is what makes them stand out from everyone else.
