Ok Computer is my favourite album. Although I do enjoy the bends and Kid A.

My opinion is that Radiohead is the best band on the planet.

included in my opinion is also the Strokes as the second best band on the planet whatever that means. Basically my opinion holds as much weight as the next guy, none at all.

but to be honest with Radiohead's discography and effort for experimentation and pushing the envelope for everyone else they have to be leading the pack when it comes to music.

Think I chose Kid A as my favourite album... and I'm not even sure why. HTTT had me in a trance for months. There There is still my favourite song (all time), amazing live. I was impressed with the complete effort that was In Rainbows, both albums. and OK computer is still considered the best rock album ever recorded (definitely the best mastered album I think).

for someone to say they don't like Radiohead is almost a dull statement. They've re-invented themselves so many times for you. Crossed so many barriers.

In Rainbows is my personal favourite album. OK Computer, Hail To The Thief and Kid A are close behind.

no matter how many times they "re-invented" themselves, they are still po-faced people singing about alienation

there's not that much diversity in their work - mostly minor chords, downbeats

Pablo Honey has the most "variation" but it ain't exactly a "good" debut

right.............

when I talk diversity I'm talking album to album... to be diverse from one song to the next on the same album is pretty much pop music.

but from a Hard rock beginning to the electronia samples and ambient vocals they do alot of stuff in their music that alot of bands can't do. Half the time a non fan has little to no idea what Yorke is saying. Which is kinda cool!!!

That's comforting! I thought I was the only one who didn't get a thing he was saying at times...

Aside from all this, i just realized something: In Rainbows has a lot of the same sounds as HTTT, and it gets a Lot more recognition. B S.

I think HTTT is patchy and overlong, and would be a more consistent album if it lost a couple of tracks from the end of it.

Oh please.

They were a generic guitar band who wrote slightly better songs than most of the britpop dross that surrounded them at the time who then decided to rip off anything made by Warp records after they got bored of making generic guitar music. Hell even Noel & Liam Gallagher were doing that with Death In Vegas & The Chemical Brothers at the same time.
Virtually every big name British rock band in the mid 90s went through a phase of experimenting with electronic or dance music and it wasn't Radiohead who started that trend. It was Primal Scream.

I don't think Radiohead ever really experimented with dance music (though I suppose their latest is kinda dancey in a way). Electronics and jazz is more where they found inspiration. Also primal scream suck and they haven't put out anything on the same level of Radiohead so it doesn't matter if they did it first.
