Uh I'm not talking about Ok Computer. Kid A and Amnesiac both borrow heavily from Warp Records. Look it up.

That's a bit of stretch and it still doesn't change the fact Radiohead did it better and incorporated tons of different elements. You're still not explaining your opinion at all you're just restating it and not offering any sort of explanation.

Uh, go look up Warp Records and listen to the bands on their roster. Tell me they don't sound similar. Until then you don't have an argument.

You're the one who's not offering an argument you just keep telling me to listen to Warp records and trying to act all high and mighty about it. I've heard plenty of their artists, I'm a huge Aphex Twin fan for one thing. I've heard people on that label from Autechre to Prefuse73 and !!!, Battles and Grizzly Bear were huge last year. So fuck off and don't tell me to listen to Warp records and research them because I have and I know who they are. Explain your opinion or shut up and stop acting like a jackass.

I'm not. If you don't see the similarities then there's not much I can say...Radiohead is pretty obviously taking a huge leaf out of the book of the whole IDM movement, Kid A is a minimalist Electronica album without any original ideas. Sure it's a great album and they certainly put their stamp on it, but it's not innovative at all. What original ideas do you see in it?

This is one of the stupidest things I've ever read. It's not even minimal. Stop being a pseudo-intellectual jackass elitist prick. You're not saying anything different than what you were before you're just adding more words and more words and now trying to ask me what I find original before even answering my question on why it's unoriginal.

Because they haven't contributed any new ideas. Which I just said. You're the one who needs to answer my question.
Edit: How is it not minimal?

lol

Oh and Proggy if Radiohead were to rip off Warp records artists and then combine them into one album it would be one of the most original albums ever since Warp records artists don't all sound the same. Quit stealing lines from Urban when you don't even know the argument behind them.

They managed to make it accessible to a fanbase that were mostly just guitar-music fans, i'd say that's a pretty big step.

Did they rip off Warp Records? .. yes

They also ended up making an album that is better than 99% of the material on that label as well.

Just out of interest how many other bands were mixing rock with IDM , free jazz & piano ballads in 2000/2001?
