Any band can cite another as an influence. Iron Maiden said they were influenced by the Beatles but it doesn't mean that influence shows up in their work when you hear them.

Well aside from the fact that Vegetarians are always A plus douchebags, theres the fact that he has absolutely nothing positive to say about anybody or anything, and hes said a lot of things that are borderline racist, he even celebrated a mans death, he's a prick, simple as that.

Plus he just acts smug, even though his solo music is pure shithouse.

Getting back on track, Rage Against The Machine seems to have one of the most insanely loving and devoted fan bases ever, and a rather large one at that. On the other hand they're pretty much everything that makes terrible music rolled into one band.

1. Don't generalize about all vegetarians.
2. He wrote two books praising the New York Dolls and James Dean.
3. Don't pull the old "oh Morrissey is a racist card" it's not even remotely true and is against many things Morrissey stands for.
4. He said "Pity it wasn't George Bush" when Ronald Reagan died, that's hardly celebrating a man's death.

I just heard the song Atmosphere about 2 hours ago. I don't think anything Interpol did comes even remotely close to that. The song Digital sounds closer to Devo than Interpol. When you don't like a band you don't keep inventory of all their songs.

Tell you what. Pick what you feel are their 3 best songs and I will tell you what I think.

I love the lyrics to RATM but unfortunately their style of music grates on me.

Atmosphere is basically a black sheep amongst Joy Division's discography to use that as the benchmark for all Joy Division songs basically shows your ignorance. I'd listen to She's Lost Control, Transmission, and Isolation and tell me you can't think of plenty of bands who've ripped that style of music off.

#4 I celebated Reagan's death. The man was a terrorist and should have been locked up.

1. I every vegetarian I have crossed pathes with has been a self righteous f*ck. I guess I am being a little biased though.
2. Yeah, and he's called how many genres of music vile? Too f*cking many to count.
3. Thats why I said borderline. He does seem to hate all music by black people, so its easy to get that impression,
4. Ok, wishing death upon someone, just as bad.
