Cool How to look for band members

Hello, I'd like to know what are the best way(s) to find possible band members for a Rock/Alternative Band I'm trying to form. Sadly I don't have any member so far.

I live in St-jerome, Quebec, Canada. Even if simply want to sing and scream in the band, I play guitar but Its (so far) only a creation tool.

Thxs

Try putting an ad out for a magazine or something.

Some record stores or guitar shops let you put an advert in their window or something like that, try asking around you local stores if you want to find some local players.

check around the net for a relatively local music/scene forum. you might have to settle for montreal 'specific' forums though.

you can try posting on sites like kijiji and craiglist or check for local facebook and myspace groups

an ad in local music stores might work but guitar players are a dime a dozen. sell yourself as a vocalist (they're usually in higher demand).

also, if you don't already have most of a band already in place then odds are you're not going to be able to successfully start anything on your own (you need a bit of a reputation to do something like that) your best bet will probably be to find a band looking for a vocalist.

community websites -> music section -> post an ad

record stores -> always have ads looking for bandmembers

guitar/music stores -> same as above

studios -> same as above

go to gigs and meet people who are into the same music -> start a band

see it's ****ing easy man!

i actually found my band mates on myspace and local music forums... try finding a local website thats caters to music fans... and actually craigs list can help you too... also try local rehearsal studios they usually have a board on the wall for you to put adverts
