Your eyes were never yet let in to see the majesty and riches of the mind, but dwell in darkness; for your God is blind.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Even though I could go earlier than the 50s, I'd probably skipping a lot of decades.

50s - Sun Ra
60s - Frank Zappa
70s - Magma
80s - Thinking Plague
90s - Mr. Bungle
00s - Koenji Hyakkei
Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God

50s: Charles Mingus
60s: Frank Zappa
70s: Jaco Pastorius
80s: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
90s: Phish (Major label debut wasn't 'til the 90s!)

Or, at least those are the ones that came to mind first.

It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken
Perhaps they're better left unsung
