punk i like so far: the adolescents, dead kennedys, gang of four, ramones, violent femmes, minutemen, the replacements, the sex pistols, husker du

i have also heard the clash, stiff little fingers, the damned

also consider getting into the heavier 2nd wave stuff like Black Flag, G.B.H and Discharge.

Also check out early Descendents, Misfits, Wire, and The Damned.

I would consider Wire a little left of field for what they are looking for personally. However that doesn't detract from the fact that they are damn good!

yea i know wire anyways but thanks for all the great suggestions! and i concur they are a bit un-punkish. pink flag being to most punk of their stuff i have tried.
