for those who dig a bluesy jazz sound, but also a some rocknroll included check out Gravy..they played at a frat party at Alabama when I went down for a weekend last fall, and I barely remembered their name and found them on itunes..the only album i have is 'said & done'...favorite song is 'Dorsey'...some of the other albums are more country

Can anyone recommend to me some good post-rock or math rock bands? I've already heard Slint, Don Caballero and Tortoise (thought the last one was pretty dull, so if they could be more like the first two that would be better).

You sir, need some Venetian Snares. I wouldn't call him or any of the others you mentioned "the most f-ed up sh-t on the planet", but it's pretty nuts.

Wow now that is sick. Thanks!

Now that my monthly compilation selection has been revealed, I can safely (and highly) recommend Eight Frozen Modules also.

"Listening to 8 Frozen Modules is the aural equivalent of removing one's brain, slicing it very finely, and reinserting in random order", as stated on 8FM's last.fm profile. I've always considered his sound equal parts Venetian Snares, Autechre and Aphex Twin.

I'm looking for some good Iron Maiden albums.

I already have Number Of The Beast, didn't really take to it that much but I wouldn't mind other good albums.

Also, what's the best Neil Young album to get into?

The other good Iron Maiden albums to get into would be the rest of the so-called "Classic Trilogy", Piece of Mind and Powerslave. As for Neil Young, you should probably start with Harvest.
