If you like R.E.M. I suggest other bands that are also from Athens, GA that were around at the same time, like Love Tractor, Pylon, The Method Actors, the Indigo Girls, and Widespread Panic. I like all of them, maybe you will too :)

Greetings everyone

This is my first post. Googled and this was the most promising site to come up.

I'm always on the lookout for new music. I listen to just about anything besides Country. On that note, I have a request from the experts here.

I am looking for more music with the general sound and energy found in Flyleaf's "I'm so sick". I would prefer bands fronted by a female. I enjoy Paramore, but I would prefer sound/vocals that are a little harder and/or darker.

Any and all suggestions are most certainly welcome. Thank you for the opportunity to discover new music.

I actually like a lot of genres and I'm looking for some good recommendations on these songs:

1. Songs that have the 'loop' like Gregorian's Moment of Peace or Duran Duran's Come Undone. The 'loop' goes tap, taptaptap, taptap.

2. Songs similar to Sarah McLachlan's Fallen and Enya's.

3. Songs similar to Paul Van Dyk's For An Angel, Goldie's Inner City Life or anything in between.

4. Songs similar to Nessun Dorma, Andrea Bocelli's Time to Say Goodbye or anything in between.

5. Jazz-Bossanova type...similar to Lisa Ono's.

You don't have to answer all, I appreciate any recommendation you can give! Thanks!!! :)

I love MIA.

Sorry there's no vid! I can't post URLs yet. :)

Another good German band is Slut, though most of their tracks are in English :3

Good luck. I don't love so much German music but I had a couchsurfer leave his whole ipod once. :D

I'm looking for serene music that you can kick back, read books, write etc. and relax to. Preferably without lyrics. Maybe somewhere along the lines of smooth jazz, classical or experimental. Appreciated.
