This Nation's Saving Grace, Live at the Witch Trials, and Hex are their three best ones. If the other two are still meh for you, then The Fall probably isn't going to be your thing.

Hex Education is a tough starter album it took me quite a while to get really into it and still I don't rate it as the "best" fall album or even in my top 3

But there's a whole lot to be said about that album and all the fascinating things going on in it could write an essay on its significance

I'd start here with The Wonderful and the Frightening if I were just getting into the Fall specifically this song was the first to break through to me:

Gonna have to disagree with any list that doesn't put Grotesque after the Gramme at number one followed by Dragnet at number two

Then there are like 5 or so albums that are acceptable for the number 3 and 4 spots

If we include all the outtakes and demos from the extended versions of Live at the Witch Trials it's as good as Grotesque and Dragnet though

This Nation's Saving Grace is excellent because it's a Fall album but consistently overrated same for Hex Education

Dragnet could overtake This Nation's Saving Grace depending on my mood.

Like, I've never heard of anyone into punk/alternative not liking at least 1 Fall album unless ofc they haven't heard them, but not even I like ALL the Fall albums

MarkE has a real "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks" approach to music so you gotta just throw yourself into the material and take what you want from it

Edit: Francis says he likes Pavement so give the song Pavement actually ripped a riff directly from a go:

I can't say I've ever met a bad record by The Fall. Some have left me a little underwhelmed and others rock my world more than some, but I can't really say I dislike any of them.

Oddly enough though, I think that Post Nearly Man is better than half of their discography.

I'm liking Nation's saving grace better than Hex. I'm gonna give grotesque a chance too cause I like their sound as a band and it's growing on me but I haven't found a song from them that has amazed me yet.

So far the few songs that got to me have been deer park and my new house and I've liked a couple of other tracks but I still don't feel captured by them.

Anyone know any sort of spinning music? Like, the sound goes from one earbud to the other then it repeats that action?
