Ok I am going to music hell but I feel there are way more talented artists and bands than the beatles, it was just a bunch of tart brit-pop and Bono from U2 should wank eachother off.
I feel that there are excellent bands from Europe and especially the UK I just think it's funny how much we give these guys a golden enema for their "influence" in modern day music, which is generally crap I don't like anyways.
Why can't we focus on the rolling stones, radiohead, led zep, and so many more beautiful bands that do their own thing the beatles just had hype and it propelled them to today as being one of the major "influences of music" I say **** on that.

Anyone with me? probably not but I am just checking.

Yawn. Who the f*ck cares that they didn't invent stuff. They adapted to their surroundings and constantly improved themselves; they could write melodies so easily and wrote great lyrics. Their 65-70 period is genius...because when people go out and do groundbreaking music it's usually hard to make it very listenable, on the other hand no one likes the dull generic formulaic songs. The Beatles found the golden middle and were some of the first and the some of the best to find the spot.

Talent? Who cares how talented a band is. It matters how well they make their music, not that they can play ridiculously boring and intricate guitar solos. Beatles were some of the absolute best at making melodic songs and that's what matters to me.

Yeah people over hype them if they call them the sole influence to every band in music. But to counter act that and say they are not one of the greatest bands ever is ridiculous.
