You do know that gnr are the only band ever to headline two rock n rios right? Also I already proved to you that gnr sold out around the world. OH I guess you forgot that post right?

Here it is again.

May 27th, 1992 - 75, 000 people at the Cannstatter Wasen in Stuttgart, Germany.
June 21st, 1992 - The band flies to Basel, Switzerland.
Another sold-out show at the 50,000 capacity St Jakob Stadium in Basel, Switzerland.
June 27th, 1992 - Show in Turin, Italy at the Della Alpi Stadium in front of 65,000 fans.
June 3rd, 1992 -Hannover, Germany to play at the Niedersachsen Stadium in front of a crowd of 60,000.

November 25th, 1992 - Caracas, Venezuela. In the absence of a suitable venue, the show is played outside one in a parking lot in front of 45,000. The biggest show ever staged in Venezuela. (IE more people that LZ played in front of there)

Hayarkon Park in Tel Aviv, Israel. Over 40 000 fans had gathered to see GN'R at the biggest concert held in Israel. (Again LZ never played in front of that many people in Israel)

June 12th, 1993 - Show in front of 31 000 at the Olympic Stadium in Stockholm, Sweden
June 22nd, 1993 - Played in front of 50,000 at Wildparkstadion in Karlsruhe, Germany.
July 8th, 1993 - Nancy, France for a show in front of 20,000 Zenith arena.
July 16th, 1993 - Play in front of 70,000 at River Plate Stadium.

So gnr didnt sell out areans around the world? Oh maybe you are right gnr sold out STADIUMS around the world.

Have a great day Stu.
I like you. Not 'cause youi argued with Stu, 'cause I like him to, but its 'cause I love g 'n' r and you managed to put into valuable and meaninful numbers how great they were. That does kinda say allot though, they were great and theirs no point arguing when they have succeded in going down in rock history with the Led, Stones and The Beatles which must count for something.

well i am a huge gnr fan and evn i am bored ****less with this debate. as draven sed 1 band were frm the 70's whilst the other frm the late 80's so altho they can b compared on album sales n touring figures they never really competed against each other at the same time if both band were frm the same decade then mayb this wud b a more intrestin debate as it wud be more like the oasis v blur battle. as i opened this thread i wud like to say the last thing.

stu gnr had as draven has already sed only 3 'proper' albums, they have not realeased any new material in 11 years have only 1 original band member left yet they r stil as popular, mayb even more so as new fans open up to gnr, as they wer wen they were at their peak. for a band 2 have only released 3 albums yet r stil remembered and have a fanbase as huge as theirs and cause so much controversy then they must be one hell of a band. led zep may b a gud band but gnr r stil one of the best bands in the world, the songs they produce r in a world of their own sweet child of mine was voted the best guitar riff of all time and AFD came 9th in the top 100 albums of all time whilst led zep came 17th and gnr basically epitomise everything a rock band shud be.

Not even Nirvana had the umbiquitus appeal of GnR. I mean, im not arguing this from opinion, but sales and request and things like that, GNR laid waste to Nirvana, not that they should be a barometer, because ever the Smashing Pumpkins out drew Nirvana.
