Slightly evolved and much over-gloried version of Aerosmith and I'll obviously take Aerosmith over them anyday.
Yes AFD is classic, Lies is good but UYI I&II have as much self-indulgent shwag as anything good on them - and the little outtro jam to Civil War is embarrassing. Then their career stalled out. They coulda been something if Axl didn't flame out but as is they are little more than a footnote - shortlived glory, yes great sales figures, much overhyped cult following/folk hero status, but really just one decent album. |

Poor Kurt. And at least Kurt could play guitar, he wasn't just the voice. But yeah, I do actually quite like GNR, Apetite For Destruction will always be a work of art, but I was always under the illusion Slash made the licks and riffs up? and I just figured without that, you're left with Axl. What's CD actually like? is it even worth me downloading it to give it a listen? |

Still it wasn't Slash that made the band, the whole band deserves credit because it was very often a group effort. |

The Official Guns N' Roses Thread,
Forgive me if there is already one, I used the search feature and did not find one. Im curious to know what your thoughts are on the band. The 1987 line up, the 1990's lineup and the Chinese Democracy line-up (to many musicians to mention) In all honesty I love Guns N' Roses. I've been a fan of their music since I was 5 yrs old. The Chinese Democracy album has some great music on there and I was not let down. The new band is full of greatly talented musicians. Axl Rose, Robin Finck, Buckethead, and all the other musicians all brought that rawness and tough attitude back into the world of rock music with that album. Its a shame there are not a lot of new bands out there that have as much attitude as there is on Chinese Democracy. Thoughts?
