And I don't think I'll be going to.

What made the band good was Slash, without him it's just Axl with his huge ego and piss poor voice.

I`ve not heard it either but certainly looking forward to getting around and listening to it.

I`m a big fan of Slash as well but mostly for his guitar playing and visual aspect, rather than his songwriting ability. I think the contribution of Izzy Stradlin, to probably be one the vital ingrediants of the group considering that Axl Rose wrote 75% of their stuff.

Agree about his piss poor voice at times but for many people his scratchy voice seems to be the big appeal.

I think Use Your Illusion 1 to be the best thing they ever did. Appetite for destruction was impressive but it was more about attitude and impact rather than great songwriting. Whereas Use Your Illusion 1 displays a far more mature attitude by the group and certainly displays a far denser sound incorportaing different types of music as well, only low point is the dreadful cover of "Live and let die".

Use Your Illusion II is like Metallica`s ReLoad and seems to be just the songs that weren`t good enough to get on Use your illusion I, or in Metallica`s case on Load.

It's funny to see this thread in he "Rock N Roll, Classic Rock & 60s Rock" forum. Is this where all rock bands will go to die?

Well Guns N Roses are almost dead, 6 albums in 22 years!!! And some of these 6 albums are not even proper albums either, they`re as bad as Boston for releasing stuff.

Well I can thank Guns N' Roses for me being such a music appreciater (spelling?) and for music having such an influence on my life. I found there GREATEST HITS thanks to a friend and finally heard some GNR other than "Welcome To The Jungle", "Paradise City" and "Sweet Child O Mine" (all very good songs). I fell in love instantly, especially with songs like "Patience", "You Could Be Mine", "November Rain" and most of all "Don't Cry".

I am a die-hard, and am proud to say. I love every single album and every single era they have gone through (with the exception of SPAGHETTI INCIDENT). There songs have really gotten through to me more than any others and I look at GNR as the greatest rock band to ever live. It really is too bad about all thats happened.

I am a huge fan of BOTH Axl Rose, and of course, Slash.

I do like the new Guns. Something that may not be the case for many Original GNR Fans and such. But I do like the new Guns and the band that Axl has put together. CHINESE DEMOCRACY was something I followed and looked forward to for years and I have a hard time NOT classifying it as my favorite album of all time as I have never got to see the release of a GNR album until now. The music is suberb. I always have loved Axl's soft side when it comes to music and CHIDEM captures the best of it. Its non-stop, top notch music and I love it.

Sometimes, yes, the bull**** is dissapointing and frustrating. Like (1) Why did CHIDEM take so long. (2) Where are you right now and why hasn't there been any interviews/ tours/ performances/ publicity? (3) What happened exactly with the original GNR? But, I can't let it get in the way of the music. Its just too good.

I got to see my hero in concert in November 2006 with Guns N' Roses in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and loved it. A dream come true.

I freakin' love Guns N' Roses. My bandmate, a heavy metal dude (rocks out to the Metallica and the like) had the nerve to label them one of the most boring bands ever.
****'s sake! As well as having an awesome look and being great people generally, the music is INSANE. Sweet Child O' Mine never fails to send shivers down my spine. November Rain? Pure awesomeness. Although I have to say, the first ever song I heard Axl sing was We Will Rock You at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, and I was shocked at this skinny, ginger, paler than pale guy screeching down the mike and ruining one of Queen's greatest songs. A few years later, I'm completely reversed, I love Axl's voice, and the music is fantastic.
So what, they've been through some ****, and maybe a bunch of their songs are covers, but who DOESN'T cover other people's stuff? It's only a mark of respect and love for the other bands songs!
I love them and always will =]

I don't mind that GnR did a few covers, but LOTS of bands don't cover other peoples songs!
