How to meet other musicians, music fans, etc?

Try to join a group of fans of a specific band. But be sure you also like the band.

I have joined a mailing list of my favorite band and I have gained friends from there. Just friends though.

haha, i would'nt expect much more from a fanclub, but you never know!

Yeah you never know. You share the same interest, that could be the start of it all. But I joined the mailing list to have some updates and to make some connections with the band to gain backstage access during concerts. lol

yeah, my friend said she's met alot of people from the local chapters of the Tool and Pearl Jam fan clubs. I don't know if I want to meet people that are too fanatical about any one band, though, since I'm not.

madeloud.com is a good place to find other artists/indie music fans

other then that, have to agree with everyone else - move to a city that's got a great music scene (Ithaca, NY anyone?)
