Salve Regina (see wiki) is a well-known traditional chant in honour of the Virgin Mary. It was composed in Latin during the Middle Ages and it's been translated into several modern languages. First line says: Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae ("Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy").

Now the anarcho-punk "version" of Spanish band La Polla Records:

"Salve, Regina!
Mater misericordiae!

Mater misericordiae!

With the excuse of promising
the Kingdom of Heaven,
some rascals are making
their own particular heaven on Earth.
«Buy a piece of Heaven,
payable in monthly instalments»

Salve, Regina!
Mater misericordiae!

Mater misericordiae!

One has to be a nut
to talk about the love of God
and at the same time, in schools,
to be instructing the high commanders
of the fascist repression.
How can one be so pharisee!

Salve, Regina!
Mater misericordiae!

Mater misericordiae!

(...)

That's not offensive at all. Seems just a criticism on religious hypocrisy.

^ It depends. Personally, I see it as a "frontal attack" on Church's hierarchy and certain organizations such as the Opus Dei.

Obviously, it's not about a large social group (ethnic, race, by gender, age, status, nationality, political ideology, class, job, etc.), and of course there are songs much more offensive than this one. But if you see it from the point of view of the "offended", we could say that, at least, it's "controversial". Dan Brown has been branded "offensive" by some for writing similar ideas.

Anyway, I admit the matter is subjetive.

Happy clappy pop song. Best thing on "Who Killed Amanda Palmer" which is kind of saying a lot.....

Its a song about a teenage girl who gets raped at a party, gets pregnant from said rape, has an abortion, and has to deal with her best friend who she trusted and confided in telling everyone she knows. She doesn't really think about any of that though. She's excited and happy because her favorite band, Oasis, sends her an autographed picture after she sends them fanmail. Her vapidness is a coping mechanism. Lyrics:

When I got to the party
they gave me a forty
and I must've been thirsty
cause I drank it so quickly.

When I got to the bedroom,
there was somebody waiting
and it isn't my fault
that the barbarian raped me.

When I went to get tested
I brought along my best friend
Melissa Mahoney
who had once been molested

and she knew how to get there
she knew all the nurses
they were all really friendly
but the test came out positive.

Uh-oh.

I've seen better days but i don't care
I just sent a letter in the mail.

When I got my abortion,
I brought along my boyfriend
we got there an hour
before the appointment.

And outside the building
there were all these annoying
fundamentalist Christians.
We tried to ingore them.

Oh-oh

I've had better days but i don't care.
Oasis got my letter in the mail.

When vacation was over,
the word was all over
that i was a crack whore
Melissa had told them.

And so now were not talking,
except we have tickets
to see Blur in October
and i think were still going.

Oh-oh

I've seen better days but i don't care.
Oh i just got a letter in the mail.
Oasis sent a photograph
it's autographed and everything
Melissa's gonna wet herself
I swear.
