This list isn't very good.
Now I'd say:
In The River by A Hawk and a Hacksaw
Which Will by Nick Drake
Jezebel by Iron & Wine

The Cat 04-14-2009 09:14 AM

Mine would be:
Dire Straits - Tunnel of Love (my all time favorite song)
Simon & Garfunkel - Wednesday Morning 3am
Iron Maiden - Phantom of the Opera (Original with Di'anno on vocals not the live version)

Zarko 04-14-2009 09:19 AM

Great having a person who isn't afraid to pronounce their love for the Straits :D

FaSho 04-14-2009 09:22 AM

Invalid Letter Dept.-At The Drive-In
Vito's Ordination Song-Sufjan Stevens

yeah, that was always my fav iron maiden song...they were such a different band when Di' anno was on vocals, ****inson is a better singer, but paul made them sound so raw...too bad he never had any luck with his solo career...

****inson is definatly the better singer but he can't convey Di'anno's raw power as you hear when he sings any of the early Maiden stuff live his voice just does not suite the songs

Comus 04-15-2009 08:35 AM

My dear friend, nothing personal, but this thread is called " 3 songs you feel...., so there 's no general rule each of us should follow..You might not like my short list as well as I might not like yours. Do you feel so sure your songs are universally loved? Who can say that? I think that every single answer is influenced by everyone's musical tastes, so it's really hard to reach a general agreement on all the 3 songs everyone is trying to recommend.
Anyway, that's my personal opinion, nothing more..

DeepDishBedPan 04-15-2009 10:07 AM

So, good songs that any well-minded music lover has no reason disliking...okay...

1) The Who - Rain O'er Me
2) The Doors - Riders on the Storm
3) Led Zeppelin - Dazed & Confused

I know they're some cliche choices, but they ain't my favorites; just three songs everyone should enjoy.

Davey Moore 04-15-2009 10:18 AM

Comus I think YOU'RE a terrible list. There. I said it.

lucifer_sam 04-15-2009 12:01 PM

it's okay. he's an asshole and he knows it.

Seeing as how I've seen hate expressed for all 3 songs/bands on your list, and not a lick for mine, yes, I do feel sure.

It's funny you picked on that one when it's more likely to be a classic than the other two.

Nutshell (Unplugged) - Alice in Chains
Still Don't Give a **** - Eminem
Call of Ktulu/Orion - Metallica

The first is too good to pass by, or I think so. His vocals are amazing as hell and I think everyone should at least appreciate it. The second is one of the few rap songs I can tolerate. The beat is very nice and his flow is unprecedented. It's humorous and serious at the same time as are most of Eminem's songs. The last two, which I feel are tied, display how good an instrumental, done by a metal band can be. Call of Ktulu makes you feel like you're in a horror film and mirrors some feel that H.P. Lovecraft's novel, The Call of Cthulu, emanates. Orion is just pure beauty. The bass interlude can jerk tears and makes your mind wander towards things like the universe or anything else. It also has one of the most badass bass solos I have ever heard. In fact, most people mistake it for a guitar solo on their first listen through.

scottsy 04-20-2009 08:02 PM

Pennywhistle - Augie March: Just a great, quirky, feel good song.

Reptile - The Church: Just a classic hooky riff with a nice betrayal type lyric

The Old Years - My Friend The Chocolate Cake: Yearning for home...

Hahaha, that's true.

You know why, though?

I don't really know Michael Buble, just the name.

And I don't know who LeeAnn Rhymes is, just that song.

I love Jason Mraz. So I can honestly give my opinion, you know what I mean?

glastonelle 05-29-2010 11:06 PM

The Darkness - I Believe In A Thing Called Love
The Beatles - Hey Jude
Oasis - Wonderwall
