I'd put it up against emo and pop and anything else anyday. It's the people HERE that just roll their eyes. My guitarists can really really play. The drummers can play and the singers get waaay up there. The musicianship is so good that I believe people roll their eyes out of "I can't do that" rather than scoffing.

Hair metal is just as valid as anything else. Hey, at least I enjoy my music rather than always trying to get something out of it. I'll sing along to songs about booze and cars and babes. You people can moan along to your inner turmoil or whatever the hell else you want.

Hair metal is what dominated the radio until I was 14 or 15 so I'll admit that I like a certain amount of it out of nostalgia but I have to tell you I don't think I've ever heard a hair metal album that is a solid piece of work from beginning to end. There are usually a couple of fun tracks and then a whole lot of filler. That's my gripe with hair metal, that it's boring. It has nothing to do with whether the musicians are skilled or not.

Valid point. There's a lot of filler. Very few bands were able to do a completely solid album. There are exceptions, of course, but I'm not here to throw out band names. I'll stick to the subject.

Metallica fans. Not fanboys, Metallica fans. Metallica fans are a different kind of fanboy and we have some on the boards here, even though they dont tend to stick around long.

Im a Metallica fan too so in a way I feel I should probably condemn myself also but the difference is I actually acknowledge the existence of other bands that arent Pantera, Slayer or Megadeth.

2) Annoying threads that lack content, except for single- or two word-posts

I stage a coup d'thread and announce my own complaint about this forum. Although I have read a few good threads, there still is a disturbing majority of threads of the type "What was the latest album you bought" or "Your most listened song", which contain NO discussion or debate... If you really listened to the song 600 times the past month: WHY? After having heard it that many times, surely you have _something_ to say about it? These threads tend to just become meaningless lists where nobody reads or comments the other posts, and just writes their two words and then they're done.

I say, we start a Noah's ark for the really interested people...

Is a fanboy someone who just never sees any negative in a band? If so I'm the opposite. Most of my bands have more bad stuff than good! Ha.

In a way. These forums have been littered with fanboys, not just Metallica fanboys who will take a constructive, negative comment regarding a band and respond with a very intelligently planned "**** u! (insert band name here) rulez peopulz!"

Instead of bitching about it start a thread that will encourage debate then. I and many others would love some threads of this nature and the mods especially try to do this.

Fan = To really like something.

Fanboy = To really like something and that's the only thing you seem to really like.

There is far too much bright eyes hate in this thread.
