Now it's 2nd only to the mighty 'Animals' for my favourite Floyd album. It's a truly astonishing album and once you 'get it' you are hooked!
I never 'got it' I must admit.

Most of my favourite artists weren't an immediate thing to be honest. London Calling pops to mind, as an album it was pretty bloody confusing for me when i first heard it but now i'd say its one of the best albums ever.

Try listening to the album on quality headphones. It takes on a whole new resonance.

Same thing happened to me with Slayer's Reign in Blood. I listened to if a few times in a few days, and I only liked it a bit. I just listened to it a few days ago several moths after that, and now I love it.

It took me ages to get into Faith No More's Angel Dust. When i bought it i just didnt get it at all, it was just so wierd and complex. But now when i listen to it i think it sounds amazing, it's def my favourite FNM album.

The day I listened to 'Reign In Blood' back on it's release in '86 blew me away. That has still never changed. Perfect album in every way.

Anything that's instantly 'catchy' always seems to take time for me to appreciate.
But when it comes to metal or noisy stuff, I could differentiate between the good and bad immidiately! Damn, bad listening habits I get into sometimes .

I may have to do that then because I like Saucerful of Secrets. Its not like I have trouble 'getting' all of Floyd.

Took me a while to get into Tago Mago (I liked Ege Bamyasi a lot beforehand), but I realize now how fantastic it is. I still don't really like Peking O, but everything else on the album is brilliant.
