I wouldn't want any of them back .. Having died is part of their legend.

i agree with toretorden ... the death of these musicians have contributed to their legend that wouldn't be the same if they were still alive today

Instead I prefer to think of groups that I wish were still around making music but disbanded too early or could have kept going on.

If I had to choose, then possibly some of the rather sad deaths like recent Brian Delp's (Boston's old singer) recent suicide .. Badfinger is another band with a couple of suicides more or less because of troubles they had with the music industry, but it's still sort of part of their legend .. Sometimes, a legend as victims, sadly.

May they rest in peace.

I know my post sort of misses the point of the thread, though. So don't feel like you have to point it out.

Edit :

To contribute a little, I'll mention Jeff Buckley. The poor sod only lived to make his debut.

Have you heard any of his work outside of Grace? The Legacy edition of Grace has plenty of great tracks and 'Sketches for My Sweetheart' has 2 discs worth of unfinished tracks and demos. Well worth investigating.

Theres so much more stuff via bootlegs as well if you can be bothered to bloghunt for it all. Plus you'll get a lot of dead links, I've tried.

Yeah, I am aware there's more to Buckley than his debut and I considered editing my post to include a mention of that, but I couldn't be bothered since what I wrote originally wasn't exactly wrong.

It did suggest a little that you hadnt heard anything but his debut but yes, of course you were not wrong. It's a shame as I would have liked to have seen how he progressed. If I could bring any artist back it would be Jeff but only so I could see him live.

I would have rather Kurt Cobain waited a few years before pulling the plug.
