Yep, that pretty much sums it up.

I always took it to mean a scenester, hipster type of girl. Possibly also, someone who is more into looking the part of a particular music subculture than she is into actually listening to the music. But maybe other people here have a different take on it.

scene chicks! I had some at my school. They were really gorgeous, but sadly, they smoked. Some people are fine with that, but I think it's repugnant. but in other news! those are definitely good examples.

oh and juggalos. yeah, I think everything in this thread is spot on. What I don't get is how they ended up with face paint? Black metal started that whole trend.

Well, Clowns is the obvious answer.

Yeah, where did a band named Insane Clown Posse ever get the idea for facepaint? It's a mystery.

Surell 02-12-2009 10:07 PM

True that.

CanwllCorfe 02-12-2009 11:51 PM

uhh, more people than just them wear facepaint. they may have started it but I see more similarity in

http://ripleyhs.jack.k12.wv.us/stude...s/Twizted2.jpg

and

http://www.sentidmortales.com.ar/images/tsjuder2002.jpg

than

http://www.rickleephoto.com/blog/clowns1a.jpg

but it doesn't really matter. they wear face paint now, and drink faygo soda. that's what counts .. or something

Janszoon 02-13-2009 12:15 AM

I don't think anyone is claiming that Insane Clown Posse were the first band to wear facepaint (ever heard of KISS or Alice Cooper?). The point is that their whole schtick is to be "insane clowns" and thus the clown facepaint. If you want to see something that the guys from ICP really seem to have derived a lot their ideas from, look no further than the 1988 move Killer Klowns from Outer Space.

Thanks for the explanations Janszoon and Caveman!

Killer klowns from outer space is such a boring movie too. It's like getting your inspiration from Catwoman or ... Batman and Robin.

I have to admit I kind of like it. But I have a soft spot trashy, so-bad-they're-good B-movies.

They may not be the two best examples but scene girls in general...
The first is hotttt.

Don't be sippin' on the haterade :p:
I guess, yeah I'm a scenester. But not an annoying stupid one. I don't want to be labeled but I guess I can't really run from the truth!

Haterade? Is that from the same company that makes Faygo?

Roemilca 02-14-2009 01:44 PM

@ Shoe: The second picture was gross, man. She has so many piercings that if she were to give me a blowjob, my dick would probably come out of her mouth with 30 piercings attached to it.

FaSho 02-14-2009 02:01 PM

Hahaha, I'm not crazy about piercings. But the hair and eyeliner is quite sexy. Its just my taste I suppose.

Scenester girls try way too hard to act fun and cute and they just come off as annoying as ****. Juggalo douchebags try way too hard to be different and hardcore and come off as stupid wiggers. I really can't tell which I hate more.

Well you shouldn't hate people just by how they're labeled. I mean yeah people consider me scene and I guess I am (studded belts, band tees, girl jeans, hair in eyes) but there's a lot more to me than that. I'm not fake and I don't pretend to be hardcore... I'm actually pretty shy. And I'm not one of those annoying scene kids (many of my friends) that are just like "Oh [insert good genre] sucks ass you should listen to real music like Carnifex"
I appreciate all music and my favorite genres are actually post-rock, trance, and ska. Rather than hardcore.

(SO HATE THE JUGGALOS MORE :p: )

Yes you absolutly should.

Why would you dress that way otherwise unless you're under 20? If you are then thats excusable, but as an adult you shouldn't be relying on your outfit to define yourself.

What if thats not how you define yourself? You just dig the look? And yeah I am a 15 year old caught up in the "rebellious" trends of today's society.

Dtownknight 02-15-2009 12:43 AM

this thread is hilarious, it went from hating on juggalos to hating on scene and hipsters. I want the juggalo defenders BACK! they are too hilarious! BTW scene chicks are hot, im not a scene dude or whatever you want to call it, but i def hit on their chicks and will chill with them whenever im out. There is a juggalo scene in nashville tn, they're members are the most annoying people in the ENTIRE WORLD!

Scene chicks look like jap wannabes .. Does the lead singer from Tokio Hotel qualify as a scene chick?

http://images.starpulse.com/Photos/P...-Hotel-m08.jpg

His parents must be proud.

About John Wayne Gacy, damn .. I had to look him up. A serial killer dressing up as a clown and going to children's parties .. I thought that only happened in fiction. :(
