But then you have to decide what falls into an extreme metal category. I may do what was stated earlier and follow the genre classifications in the education threads, even if we only get top 5's in some instances.

That's a good point too. I think a lot of the thrash bands would be hard to place if it were divided up that way, for example.

Too much arguing about the inevitable dreaded Metal genres so it died. Myself and Bulldog are working on a complete Reggae and Dub thread.

sounds awesome, i've been listening to a bit now and then but apart from the big names (Black Uhuru, the Abyssinians, Linton Kwesi, etc.) i haven't heard much.

it's such garbage how little ska and reggae there is on this side of the Atlantic. we're closer to Jamaica ffs!

I think the brits are more inclined to Reggae due to the West Indian population influx in the 50'/60's and 70's. I mean America already had their own indiginous music like Jazz and Blues that meant Reggae stayed under the radar (which is perfectly understandable).
