I think there's a rule that 50% of all new posters have to say "I like everything except country and rap" in at least one of their first 15 posts.

Well.... it's a good thing I never said that

Though I dunno why I would considering it wouldn't be true

Can I be different and say I like everything apart from Heavy Metal (and all of it's multiple subgenres)
And believe me.... I tried listening to it..... and while listening to it I had the strange feeeling that my speakers were going to die....

Iron Maiden makes your speakers die? Hm, never knew. You must be referring to Deathcore, Metalcore, etc.

Techinally yeah that is what I mean.....
I could re-phrase it to Heavy Metal AFTER the year 2000 (roughly)

Really, metal's such a wide genre that you can never count it out completely. There's plenty of bands today imitating 70's/80's metal that you could probably stand to listen to.

Oh, and I haven't stated my opinion on Blink-182 yet, lol. I used to be obsessed with them, because they DO make really good pop-punk. I didn't like the direction they were taking before the break-up, but I might have just been naive. I'll give their last album another spin.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Blink 182. For what they are/were, which is a straight out Pop Punk band, they were pretty damn good. I'm intrigued by what the next offering will be like

I feel like they might try to rise to our expectations, though.

I don't know, maybe it's just me.

I've just never been interested in it. As for country, I live in the country. It just seems so underwhelming. Oh listen to him sing about fields, I live in the middle of about 7 of them. I also hate the songs about alcohol and parties. I don't like the note range that they stick around either. For some reason there is always a note range I am hoping for before I hear the song. Some examples

Andy Blueman - Nyctalopia
Andy Blueman - Neverland
DJ Shah feat. Adrina Thorpe - Back to You (Aly & Fila Remix)
B. Fleischmann - Static Grate
Radiohead - Motion Picture Soundtrack

I can't really explain it, it just has a heartfelt sound to it. If anyone could help me out, THANK YOU! As for rap, there isn't enough expression, and if there is then it's about stuff I can't really relate to. Come to think of it, both genres have songs about very specific things. Maybe that's why I don't bother with songs that have vocals unless they're in someway cryptic.

There's actually a lot of rap with pretty abstract lyrics.
