You know, as much as I love a lot of their music, I'm constantly annoyed whenever I bother to listen to their whiny, self-righteous, wannabe revolutionary lyrics. Maybe if black people are rioting and white people aren't, it's because black people have something to riot over, and crackers don't.

^Pretty much everyone had something to be pissed off about at that time. Thatcher and all that.

I was feeling dark. But that FILTH cover at the end... always a great pick me up.

Some acoustic guitar is a great way to wake up your ears at the start of a new day :-

One of my favourite melodies of any song:

Led Zeppelin - Presence.

The day this was released in the US the local FM station played the entire thing commercial free and my mom let me be late for school to listen to it.

I'm never sure how I feel about Hawkwind. Their Lemmy period gives them an Umph! that pleases my metal heart, they write some great songs in general, and I love the trippy atmosphere, but the instrumental meanderings can be kind of tedious when I'm not listening to them as background music. Still, they maintain a focus and lack of po-faced ridiculousness that makes them far more tolerable than a lot of the self-indulgent prog rock from that time period (I'm looking at you Genesis).
