Just got this album again, and as The Beasites (and I guess possibly many others) sampled this - In the Beasties case "Jimmy James" - I might as well just put it on here. John Barbata's crowning moment in this band.

One of those classics that never get old.

I sold dope to anybody.

Produced by Ray Davies, this was from the damn good Turtle Soup released in '69. Fact, it's Top 200 album debut was in the same week as The Monkees Present. Talk about the winding down of 60's Californian Pop with class!

Lead on this one is Howard Kaylan. The Drummer on here is John Seiter.

A rare side I first encountered on one of the many Warner-Reprise collections of the Late 60's-Early 70's. Very under looked in my opinion.

First time I tried to get into prog rock, I dove right into Genesis', Yes', and Gentle Giant's most impenetrable music and it put me off. Now I'm trying some earlier, more accessible stuff to get my toes wet, and it's pretty epic.

Hopefully think keeps up with the pace of their debut.

Lately I've been spinning the Kill Bill Vol. 1 soundtrack nonstop. It's a great collection, to be sure. Nancy Sinatra, Santa Esmerelda, Issac Hayes, that song from Lady Snowblood, which is, by the way, one of the most badass films of all time... oh yes.

R.E.M's most moving album i think. Love it to bits well most of it there's 3 songs on side 2 that are a bit of a let down after the complete and utter genius of side 1. Funny I still think about it like that. I haven't had the vinyl for 20 yrs.
