I love a lot of Steppenwolf's 60s stuff but their albums contain tracks that are hit and miss. The Second has Magic Carpet Ride, Don't Step On The Grass Sam and Hodge, Podge, Strained Through A Leslie and Resurrections... and those are literally the only songs I care about on there.

It's actually why I prefer my Retrospective compilation, even though it's missing ones that I think should be on there.

They were like the first Classic Rock band I ever heard, along with CCR, so they have a special place in my heart.

Omfg yes. Are you me from some alternate universe? Because Steppenwolf did the same for me, they were straight up my first taste of music, period. Me and them go back to when I was a small child.

Stuff like Everybody's Next One, Hey Lawdy Mama, Move Over, The Ostrich, The Pusher (man you'd think my dad would be apprehensive about letting a little girl hear that one ), Monster/Suicide/America, Jupiter's Child.

K. Now I'm gonna go binge on my Steppenwolf stuff, and I need a ****in Kleenex.
