I like this song but its not one of my favourite B sides and i felt it was one of the weaker ones on The Masterplan compilation. Some of their best tracks in the early days were B sides.

This following is one of my favourite Oasis b sides, and i have no idea how it failed to make it onto SOTSOG, especially as it made the cut on some of the foreign pressings. The second verse contains some of my favourite Oasis lyrics too.

yeah boyeee

I have really worn this one down, think 'Left & Right in the Dark' is probably my fave =P
It's surprising the album's so damn good possibly because of his image as the pretty-boy frontman, people forget he actually writes all the Strokes' material

Well this is a damn good start to an album. Still working on getting through Ninja Tune, it's quite a lot of music

I was going to go to sleep, until I started listening to some new (to me) music.

Jessica Lea Mayfield - The One That I Love Best
"You’re the sun and the moon and all the stars
You’re my first thought in the morning, and you are
The wind as it blows over my head
You’re the one that I love best..."

And I think theres actually some pretty good lyrics in the first Strokes album at least. Nothing mindblowing, but theres some good lyrics hidden away in there. "They act like Romans, but they dress like Turks" and "At least I'm on my own again. Instead of anywhere with you" come to mind. I'll probably wear this track down too at some point. Plus it has single written all over it.

Listen to this version, it's unbelievable.

I liked that version, tho a bit too chirpy lol. Still prefer the original, tho that was an interesting change. Is this version released in some kind of a bootleg comp ?

Mojo 11-25-2009 07:07 AM

It was released on the Peel Sessions LP which i absolutely love.

Just cranking Pulp's greatest hits album for the first time in a few ages. This one's definitely among their best.

Yes - Close to the Edge

Yes' first sidelong suite, one of the best things they ever did. I'm listening to Rick Wakeman's organ solo right now, and I am just being BLOWN AWAY.

Rick Wakeman is amazing. Have you heard his album "The Six Wives of Henry VIII"? I pretty much melt every time I hear it.

Genesis - Hairless Heart

I'm mad. I listened to all of my prog in one go... and now I've started doing it again.

Anyway, Hairless Heart. Not the best song on The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - the instrumental pieces on that album have always come across as a bit drifty and directionless. At least "Counting Out Time" is next. I love that one.

loveissucide 12-01-2009 10:29 AM

Mad stuff.

Sneer 12-01-2009 10:41 AM

Yeah, white boxes are mental, this one in particular is dissolving my soul.

Agitation Free - Malesch.

It's ok, pretty experimental world influences, namely Arabian. But there is much better Krautrock out there.
