This and the previous track before this (a rework of this track) blows the A side of this release way out of the ****ing water.

This might be my favorite live performance of this song. I prefer it to the studio version. Love the sound of that Ondes Martenot too. Jonny Greenwood gets a hat tip for mastering that particular instrument. It suits the song perfectly.

Radiohead - How To Disappear Completely (Live 2001)

I have a couple hard copy bootlegs that I got from trading tapes through the mail and one version of that song live always just shattered me. That version there that you linked to is also beyond phenomenal. That’s probably my favorite Radiohead song or at least tied. It blows my mind what they achieve. Completely transcendental. ****ing great one.

Probably one of my favorite DM songs, so many cool things going on in it. Dave Gahan was hardly clean at this time, and it got so much worse for him a little bit after this.

Zeuhl-ish stuff with a lot of fun ideas. Has aged really well.

There are a handful of live versions I've viewed on youtube, so I'm curious which live version you're referring to? I'd be curious to listen to it if it's available online?

You're probably already familiar with the story behind the song, but for those who aren't, Thom Yorke was experiencing burnout while touring and just wanted to be done with it all. In the midst of this crippling existential episode he reached out to Michael Stipe of R.E.M. and Stipe told him to just draw the curtains and repeat this phrase: I'm not here. This isn't happening. This phrase became part of the lyrics to the song.
