Piano Sonatas 1-3 Roger Sessions

These sonatas were spread out from 1930 / 1946 / 1965 so listening to them in succession is a pretty convenient tutorial on the changes this important American composer went through over time. He was basically either neoclassical (not in 21st C sense) and Schoenberg school - like a lot of those guys he took Schoenberg’s basic format and tweaked into his own thing.

He’s someone to check out if you’re interested in what these guys were up to back then.
