A truly great song that would probably be on my top 5.

Hatful of Hollow and Louder than Bombs have tons of gems. You don't love nothing on there? No love for Rubber Ring?

As a pleb Hatful of Hollow is a solid contender for best Smiths album aside from The Queen Is Dead

I can't argue with that. Track for track, it's solid as hell. Louder than Bombs might have a greater quantity of awesome tracks - but Hatful of Hollow is tighter and more focused. I don't think the Smiths have a bad record honestly. Strangeways is probably their weakest, but yet, in some ways, it is also one of their most unique and most interesting. It's too bad Morrissey is such a diva - it would've been awesome to hear what him and Johnny could've cooked up on a fourth album.

I like 'em, as well as the self-titled ('You've Got Everything Now' is a bit of a bop).

If there's one thing to turn me off The Smiths it's Morrissey's singing but God damn there's nothing like Morrissey in all of music and once I'm over the hump of appreciating his pretentiousnous there's no replacement for his expressiveness.

Yeah initially I also had to get over his voice, but it really grows on you, I wouldn't have his vocals any other way

Hell yes those are my two favourites

Church. The funny thing is that Strangeways is apparently the favourite of both Morrissey and Marr

A buddy of mine used to co-host a college radio DJ show with me. We frequently closed out our sets with "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out". Easily their best song.

Nah, the lyrics are a mood but musically it's not one of their best

Without the lyrics/vocals, perhaps not.

But that song is the whole package to me.
