Today the thought of Clare Fischer's distinctive and interesting string arrangements popped into my head. I don't even particularly like these songs that much, but I've always loved Fischer's work, and these were the first examples that came to mind.

I agree – he was a brilliant musical colorist (and multi-instrumentalist himself) with a unique intuitive flair for composing and arranging for big bands.
