A magnificent drone tribute to the seminal work of the chill-out scene. AAWTDCU and This Is Not What Space is About are two monumental under the radar self-releases, highly recommended for any fan of quality drone music.

To the best of my knowledge, the official circulated recording was at that rate. I am friends with the artist on FB, so I might reach out to see if an uncompressed source is available.

Shame on me. :)

EDIT: Confirmed from the official discogs entry.

Well that's weird. Usually it's the punk and grindcore type **** that's sub-320.

Perhaps it's because this was a pre-Swan project from 2001. It was the old west of bitrates.

Oh ****! New Shania Twain song, and it's... okay. You'll probably love it if you're going through menopause though. It's still fairly chill. It's not like she was ever NOT adult contemporary anyway.

Yeah, I can definitely imagine loving this if I had just divorced my boorish husband and flown away to Cape Cod to start an Etsy candle making business with my long-time secret lesbian lover.

It's the part of you that secretly loves Linkin Park.

Nah, as far as I know that's a one hit wonder pop song masquerading as a rock song, and those are often immune to the laws of taste that govern their peers. And that's still a pretty cringey song, and the singer's facial hair was hopefully buried with the 90s where it belongs.

NP: DJ Food & The Amorphous Androgynous ‎– The Illectrik Hoax

A monstrous psychedelic bubble, indeed. Spinning this in celebration of a very special LP which is finally receiving its looooong overdue reissue this October.

I'm not entirely sure what this is atm, but it's shaping up to be one of the coolest ****ing things. Major props to Chris for introducing me to them. It's certainly the most interesting hip hop album I've ever heard at least.

I'm honestly fascinated to hear every single track cause I have no idea what they'll sound like.

I'm just allowing myself to be an angsty 15-year-old girl tonight.

Bruh seriously this sounds like the hip hop rec to shove down Elph's throat, cause this sounds like post-hip hop. Dose One sounds like he's shed the very idea of being a traditional MC and is just a conduit for whatever verse is called of him.

Frownland 07-28-2017 07:36 PM

Definitely. It's what got my ignorant ass into hip hop along with Exmilitary (which I would not rec to him).

God damn this is still hitting the **** out of me. I love how in most hip hop albums the concentration is on the MC, and then the beat. But in this album the MC might be the point of any track, or the DJ might have an instrumental track, or Dose One might hit you with some spoken word **** that throws a monkey wrench into the entire notion that a music album should be kept going narratively by music at all times. There is never any definite sense of what you should be concentrating on unless you're paying attention.
