The latter two of which I bought under the impression that Joe Strummer had been the lead singer on them but it turned out that he had only produced the 'Hell's Ditch' album, which is fantastic by the way. Turned out it was Spider Stacy who did the lead vocals after Shane McGowan left. Youve got me listening to them again now lol.

Finally, another Pogues anorak :D It's off the one absolute classic you haven't got - If I Should Fall From Grace With God. That's probably my favourite, but Hell's Ditch, Rum Sodomy etc and Peace and Love run it pretty close. Besides a handful of songs, I don't have much patience for their post-MacGowan output.

On a non-Pogues-related note, here's what I'm listening to at the minute;

There's no denying it - the 80s were bloody awesome.

Good, I still enjoyed the post MacGowan stuff but I could tell right away it wasnt as good as when MacGowan was with them. I realy like 'Hells Ditch', theyre a really great bunch of musicians. Yeah Ive heard of that album before, but as usual went for more obscure stuff the first time round :D.

Human League are quality man! They had a song in the 90s which i remember hearing and liking from a very young age.
Nostalgia rush!

Couldnt find the studio version but even live, this song is fucking ace. Had it on repeat for like 10 times today lol.

Another top tune he did with the excellent James Taylor.

I didnt watch it, all this talk of Neil Young has got me back listening to him again for the first time in quite a while.

Couldnt find studio version, but such a beautiful song. The great thing about Neil is that he can write great rock albums, while at the same time writing some of the most beautiful, emotionally moving songs I've ever heard in my life.

ChiliColdBlood 07-02-2009 07:33 AM

Love that Meshuggah song up there :D

Mirrorball95 07-02-2009 05:17 PM

I just recentley got into this band after buying the Colossal Head album, so far it has been life-changing.

Song called 'Maricela'

sidewinder 07-02-2009 08:14 PM

Haven't been in this thread in a while. Playing a few Venetian Snares tracks.

Mirrorball95 07-03-2009 05:21 PM

The bassline in this song really turns me on.
Widespread Panic- Use Me

Gbv!!!!

Mirrorball95 07-05-2009 06:47 AM

Nick Lowe is so fucking great and Ive only heard one album so far 'Labour Of Lust'. Will be getting 'Jesus Of Cool' album soon.

And the song that got me into him. :D

Bulldog 07-05-2009 07:55 AM

Can't get enough of this song at the minute. I do generally have a preference for roots, but this song (and the album it's on) is some of the best dancehall reggae I've ever heard.

One of the best songs from the album of the same name - another one I really wish I knew about when I was doing my top 100.

Very simple but just beautiful. A guitar and a voice. I love it.

~Paranerd~ 07-09-2009 09:52 PM

I'm too lazy to post a youtube link. :o:

My WMP is on shuffle atm so it's Hit or Miss - New Found Glory. It's the only song I have from them.

Bulldog 07-10-2009 02:25 AM

^ Put simply, this song is fvcking beautiful. It's all about that string arrangement that ends it.

asshat 07-16-2009 12:00 AM
