I'm on a big R&B kick lately and Ryan Leslie is so underrated.

Hank Williams III really knows how to make country that sounds modern and old school at the same time. Me likes.

Bent Shapes- "Panel of Experts"

I've been obsessed with this band for a while now. They're still fairly unknown, especially outside Boston, which I find criminal. They used to be known as "Girlfriends" and sounded more 'Slanted & Enchanted', 'Alien Lanes', but has made the full transition to 'Brighten the Corners', 'Under the Bushes Under the Stars' and renamed themselves. There's the obvious Pavement comparisons, and the sound is also not unlike a lot of more current ex-lo-fi bands, but they do it with both sharper wit and songcraft. Pretty much everything they've released so far has been gold.

Take away the steampunk pretension and you've got a solid Patton-esque act.
