Forgive me Antonio, I have not been very active lately and i tried to add onto my analysis everyday and I finally had a lot of free time to finish up.

Antonio sent me The Wall by Pink Floyd

Like nothing I had ever listened to before. I had never listened to any Pink Floyd previously and I really never planned to before this, I’ve just never been into stuff like this before. I don’t know how to describe The Wall, It’s very spacey and imaginative. When I first started off with listening to “In The Flesh” I didn’t know what to think of it, I knew I liked it (and also knew that Pink Floyd would probably turn out to be a band that I would have to be in the modd to listen to) like I said before I had never ben exposed to this kind of stuff, and I still don’t really know how to explain what Pink Floyd was trying to do with this album.

After reading into the lyrics a bit more I came to the conclusion the album is about a boy’s life, his story starts with “The Thin Ice” with his birth. Gradually this boy becomes an outcast to society, everyday making a bigger wall to separate himself from society and conformity making him isolated. Some events that prompted this were his father who went off to war, his abusive teachers, and his overprotective mother. I am at a loss as to where or how the album ends or what happens to this boy. Maybe there follow up album would continue the story? I’m not sure.
I never thought of Pink Floyd being a band like this. Do I regret not listening to these guys earlier? No. Why? If I tried listening to this album 3 months ago I would have immediately dismissed it due to my closed mindedness and would have never been able to appreciate it.
7/10

I can't think of a worse Floyd album to send you especially as it was your first listen Do not judge them by this album alone please.

^ Tho I do feel The Wall is a good introductory album. It's like songs with a hint of Pink Floyd, before you get to the real thing. Well it was that album that introduced me to Pink Floyd, I don't think I could've started with Piper at the Gates of Dawn.

Start with Dark Side Of The Moon.... it's overrated but it's their easiest to get into. Why do you think it sold so many copies?

Because DSOTM is nice and safe. Easy on the ear and it's production lent itself well to the boom in household higher end sound systems.
