I really don't get the point he is trying to make, first he was talking about the "old times"...I knew there was something wrong going when I saw the picture of the classic rock band Sklipknot, and then he was talking about spikey metal...

It's called exploring the music scene in your local area. I can walk 200m to a student pub to find good quality bands that play a range of music from blues, to heavy metal, to jazz. It's about getting off your ass and making an effort. Music this generation is good, but the mainstream music isn't unfortunately. The old days mainstream was good, but you have to get with the times.
