the way i see it, it was carrying the torch for northern soul, fusing it with funk and preparing the world for house, or whatever. I also think it got better as it took on synth-pop AND I know you are a hip-hop head Surell so you should check out new jack swing. That's the shit although i'm sure at the height of it's popularity disco's monotonous groove would have eventually induced a gag reflex, much like popular indie rock today |
If you don't like the odd disco song to shake your booty at then you are taking your listening habits far too seriously. I have a soft spot for funk edged disco and what came after with deep and chill house. I have quite a few house mixes and wouldn't mind some more if anybody has any? Bass in music especially dance music gets me pumping.

But for your original question: No. But listening to Vanilla Ice does make you a bad person however. So just don't get too close to that cliff. :D |
Is MC Hammer Ok?

What's disco? I can't think of one band that's called disco that I couldn't place in another genre. |
Disco is that song Disco Duck.

I like disco, at least some of it. There's a lot of rock music coming out nowadays that has a lot of disco/funk themes in it.
