Heard this the other day, didn't see anyone post it and thought it was interesting. Its true that listening to music isn't as social with ipods and such...

I think this article was written by someone who doesn't spend much time on public transportation. I'm happy (most) people aren't carrying around boomboxes anymore. There are few things more annoying than some douchebag blasting crappy music out of a boombox on the subway.

I agree... but I kinda woulda like to seen what it was like back then. With the whole hip hop scene it looked kinda neato.:p:

Well I'm old enough that it was going on when I was a little kid. I definitely remember people carrying around boomboxes like that.

I don't really know how much it went on in the 70s. It think boomboxes were more of an 80s thing.
